Moody Elopement at Abandoned Evans School House
Let’s talk styled shoots! During our off season you can always find us setting up a ton of styled shoots. As wedding planners our goal is to not only help you find your vendors but to create your entire event design layout as well. Most clients come to us as a blank slate and each year we hear the same things from clients, they are wanting something unique and different when it comes to a venue and theme. Our goal with styled shoots is to find new vendors and venues to network and work with in order to provide our clients with the best vendors for their wedding day. This year we put a strong focus on finding out of the box wedding venues as well as pushing the style limits to broaden our portfolio and show our clients options for their wedding décor and set up.
We love historic buildings and we love that many are opening up their doors to weddings more and more. Our amazing photographer Krystalle with Through The Evergreens came to us for help coordinating the details as well as using our rentals for the set up. We decide on a moody and Victorian style for the shoot. We see so many clients shy away from black in their wedding color palletes and it makes us so sad. Having a bold and dark color in your palette really makes your other choices pop. Black as a wedding theme can be so versatile, from soft and elegant to dark and moody, or modern and chic.
The exposed brick and old iron vaults provided the perfect backdrop for a Victorian style wedding with a twist. Snowberry Floral Co provided the florals for this shoot and absolutely knocked it out of the park. Florals are such a huge part of a wedding and can really make or break your theme and vision. For this shoot we did a mix of dried elements, perfectly painted to fit our color scheme, as well as pops of fresh florals, and peep our dried fruit additions to tie into data cakes perfect elopement cake design. Dried elements have been so poplar for wedding décor and florals this season we knew we had to throw in some dried fruit elements and why not add them throughout our floral arrangements as well. Our models were absolutely amazing and such a key part to this shoot! We loved eccentric brides and grooms and it was a pleasure to work with these couples and see their style really come to life in our theme!
We can’t wait to start exploring more of Colorado’s hidden gem wedding venues and bringing out clients new and unique ideas for their wedding day! When Covid19 threw a wrench into wedding plans we knew we had to get creative and bring some light to our couples. We spent a lot of our free time in 2020 searching for non-traditional wedding venues. We have compiled a list of over 75 “wedding venues” that aren’t advertised anywhere ranging from ranch, garage, hidden lakes, secluded cabin get always, private hot springs, and so much more. We love being able to give our wedding planning clients in Colorado all of the options to make their dream day come to life.
